Lately I have this huge ke'gila'an on cotton knits.
Despite of me still continuing adding more designer cotton to my stash, I'd added another crazy fancy on knits which is more expensive than the woven cotton..haizzzz...
To make it worse, it is specifically on designer 100% cotton knits. *kopak purse makkk.

To tell you the truth, Husna doesn't need more daily clothes..she has more than enough.
Not that I'm a girly girl's dress shopaholic, it just that we received tonnes (okay a bit exaggerating here) of hands down clothes from her cousins. And all of them are in a very good condition (meet my sister who loves to shop for clothes).
But since I cannot tolerate looking at the piling up fabrics, I whipped up a simple A Line knit dress using her most comfortable dress as a guide. It took just few hours to complete.
No paper pattern required. :)
Short cut using serger (I serged all the piecing part)
Easy peasy.

I'm using knits from Patty Young collection.
And here's the reluctant model (she is sooo anti camera, but she really love this dress, or at least she did not run away when I tried it on her)

I have few more projects on cotton knits, yeap..more skirts and dresses for husna and owhh leggings!
But before that, I should complete all my customer's order.

Q: My baby really wants to look around
A: Alternative carries e.g. hip carry (baby is carried on the hip), back carry (baby is on your back & can look forward/around) using an ergonomic baby carrier.

Q: My baby's legs will be "kangkang" or spread apart in those wide-based carriers. I prefer a narrow base since there wlll be less "kangkang"
A: A wrap is highly versatile & can be adjusted exactly to your baby's legs width.
An ergonomic structured carrier will support your baby's thighs/legs.
A ring sling can be worn in front/back/hip and still avoid the crotch carrier problems.
A mei tai can be cinched smaller to accommodate your smaller baby.

Hadiff dah masuk tadika..
yeap few of my relatives said he is still small for a kindy.
In fact his baby sitter said so..but knowing HadiffBolat (yg dah tak berapa bolat), we knew that he will benefited from meeting friends and learning basics like ABC or alif ba ta.
Initially we wanted to enroll him in PASTI located nearby but unfortunately they don't accept 4 years old student (though Hadiff actual age is 3 years 3 months).
So we enrolled him at Tadika Mutiara Millenium that claimed to be an English Islamic kindergarten (though i'm very much doubt the ability of the teachers to teach in English :p)

Initially we didn't plan to buy anything for him, macam anak org lain with new clothes and bag.
Tapi macam kesian pulak, so we ended up buying a THOMAS AND FRIENDS bag (yg..hmmm super expensive for my liking)
Bad decision made, should ask him to choose the bag himself...but eventually he accept it.
The thing is he's now a fan of JAMES (a friend of THOMAS)..not THOMAS anymore..
Sabaq ja lah..adeyyyy

and the bag that made him super excited to go to school. Luckily there is a peek of JAMES besides THOMAS..:P

He didn't has any problem sangat when we sneakily went out. He told us that he only "nangis cikiiit saja" when he found out that we were gone.. Now he goes to school with a van. He's getting more independent every day. We don't expect him to learn so much from the school, we just want him to socialize and make friends.

It's been like forever I don't blog about babywearing or even cloth diapering or even breastfeeding. hehehe
Well, to tell you the truth, I'm almost at the end of my babywearing, cloth diapering and breastfeeding journey.
Not that I'm at the end of it perse, it just that I had stopped looking around for infos or things.
(Save a lot on my pocket (but hmm.. spend a lot on other things pulokk!)

But today, I'm going to introduce you to the new addi(c)ttion to the family..

Anthropology Knockoff - Hanna dress

When I saw this dress on Pinterest, I knew I got to sew this pretty dress and I have a nice cotton knit jersey that suit for this project.

But I was disappointed when I clicked on the link, i was led to an online shop in the States..frustrating....
Well, hm.. why not I just give it a try...the dress looked simple and SEEMED easy to copycat.
The worst thing that could happen is, my RM20 per metre fabric might be ended up in the scrap bin..:p

This dress took almost a week to be completed, considering I only managed to steal 15-30minutes a day to sew.
Here's my version...I should add on ruffles to make it prettier, don't you think?

But my little lady is yet to fit in the dress nicely. May be in another 6 months.:)
Owh one more thing..the original version is named Hanna dress...my version is Raihannah dress.. :p (Raihannah is my little lady name :) )

I named this skirt lollipop as the colours are so yummy..wanted to name it candy but may be on other skirt or dress perhaps..
That's the best thing when I'm able to sew something as I can give whatever cute name to it..hehehe bestkan?
This time another knit project that really challenged me.
The edge of the fabric itself made me went crazy..I was clueless on how to start.
Bergulung tu... said that may be due to high lycra content in fabric that cause the fabric to curl.

However, I am glad that I managed to pull through and kept on sewing..though a bit herot here and there.
Didn't expect it to be this hard.
But the outcome is..haizzzz.... cute kan?

I sew in a pocket..just to make this skirt look funky and add a knit bow in coordinating colour.

PINTEREST : My new addiction

If you never heard about PINTEREST, well you miss something good from the net.
Gosh..it is my new addiction and it makes my life easier!
Pinterest is actually a virtual bookmarking and social networking (just like facebook), similar to bookmarking in the internet explorer or firefox, but the best thing is all the bookmark pages are compiled in one web (i'm a IT noob, don't know the correct term to it).
But the word use in PINTEREST is PIN instead of bookmark..it is like you pin something on your BOARD.
You can retrieve back your bookmark pages in any computer unlike the typical bookmarking that bound in a specific dedicated computer.
Apart from this. you can share what you have found in the net with...almost everyone that share same passion or hobby..well..like me who just started in sewing..I managed to collect thousand of free sewing tutorials in the net!!

Those that FOLLOWING me (no approval required..hahahah), can actually see what I've pinned.
It is like sharing what we have found.
As to date, I have 77FOLLOWERs (most of them from the States) and I'm FOLLOWING 118 people.

Pinterest makes it easy to retrieve free tutorial or just browsing looking at random photos.
I can also download PINTEREST apps in my iphone...definitely a nice pass time activity...hehehehe

P.e.a.s.a.n.t Dress for Husna

It's December again, school holiday is here with of course many wedding invitations. :)
Last month when I attended a friend's wedding, I just realised that despite me getting OK in sewing, I never sew a nice wearable dress for Husna to wear on special occasion.
She only has 2 store bought dresses..Though not that she really care...hahahaha

So I pulled out my designer fabric stash and started to pair prints for a nice combo.
I got this habit of buying fabric from USA (etsy to be exact) based on what looks pretty..never crossed my mind to choose combos..*spank me..

I found this two prints which seemed OK..and asked around in my sewing group in fb.
But what the heck..just try and see..

This time I'm using a real pattern (beli punya)..Elizabeth Claire Peasant Dress from THE LIZARD KING

So here...tadaaaa..

P.L.A.N.for sewsukasukie and updates on my kids

You heard it right!
I have a plan for the sewsukasukie's future..(though not laaa big sangat pun)
This time it is a S.E.R.I.O.U.S plan.
I will be more focusing on sewing children clothes..
well let say I start with simple and easy to sew clothes dulu..take a baby step.
At this moment, I'm in the progress of collecting material, like fabrics and patterns..
I bought several patterns in the net which had cost me quite a bomb.

Please call him ABANG, he really insists on this eventhough Mr Asben kept telling him that he is only a abang for his adik Husna.
He is trying real hard not to cry whenever Husna kacau.. (or at least tolak balik)
He has totally wean from bottle...yippeee!!!
He can verse doa makan, doa masuk tandas and another doa which me and Mr Asben still try to figure out (he learn it from babysitter's daughter)
And he loves reciting Aliff Ba Ta song
He's favourite pass time activity is taking pictures or videos using my iphone
Still hook on cars, shaun the sheep and thomas and friends

Husna Raihannah

She loves picking a fight on her abang..i mean reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly loves it.

She had started to show her willingness to get out from SSC, she loves to walk walk walk (the end of my babywearing day i guess :( )

She can say Ummi and Abah (yell actually)

She can follow ABC apps in my iphone

Her tactic to get attention is rolling on the floor from one end to the other, but our tactic is just to ignore her ..hehehhe :p

She had showed jealousy if abang gets something and she gets nothing..

Skirt for hidayah

Another sewing entry.
She requested a tiered skirt to wear to tuition.
She just 9 years old but with her size, i almost fit in this skirt.
It is hard to find a 'young' prints cotton unless using polkadots and of course american cotton.
With a limited budget given to me, i found this cute print in nagoya. Just rm8 per metre.
Hope she loves this skirt.

I finished sewing this tote in just 1 week, should complete it earlier but with Mr Asben is away I could not find a free time from those two active growing up kiddos.

Manage to find the guts to use designer fabric this time..hehehhehe

I lined it with tafetta velvet making it a water proof bag.

CROTCH CARRIER Vs PROPER BABYWEARING GEAR

I got this pic from fellow babywearer.
Test conducted to evaluate the condition / level of comfort of the wearee in a crotch carrier and in a soft structure carrier (SSC).

You can see how uncomfortable he is in that crotch carrier ?(looks like a baby bjorn or look a like)
He was practically hanging on his father for assurance from falling off.
And see how he seemed relax and confident in the SSC..

Carriers like the Bjorn, Snuggli and Infantino SSC have earned the un-savory nickname “crotch-danglers” because they don’t position baby in the natural holding position. Instead, baby is seated in a fairly narrow seat leaving the legs to dangle straight down.

I’d also argue that the “crotch-dangle” position is simple not comfortable for baby (and somewhat different in a carrier where baby can’t rest his feet vs. an exersaucer or jumperoo where his feet touch the floor). Try this simple test taken from Didymos’ instruction booklet: Stand on one leg with your other leg out in front of you, bent at the knee. Place your hands under your knee to support your leg and let the full weight of your leg rest into your hands. Now move your hands back towards your bum. You will instantly begin to feel a strain in your back that wasn’t there when your leg was supported under the knee. That’s the same strain a baby will feel when his legs aren’t supported to the knee. Even if we assume that this position doesn’t cause harm, it certainly isn’t as comfortable as the alternative.

Yeap, I was busy with sewing lately (or ferasan busy..:p).
Finally managed to sew a matching pants and skirts for Hadiff and Husna.
How I wish I had a time to do a proper shoot...malangnyaaa tak sempat.
I use a corduroy this time..and they turned out quite nice (and not to mention easy to sew too!)

And tempahan from my officemate for her newborn niece..

And finally a ladybug social dress..sooo easy peasy project!!

I'm gonna whip up more social dresses for my friends' newborn...

Do join us in this event either be there at the event or virtually. If you're from Penang, we strongly encourage you to come and support us. We need 100 mothers to breastfeed at the event to create a bigger impact or to further increase breastfeeding awareness to the community/public.

Come on mothers, don't be shy. This is the time we stand up together and tell the public BREASTFEED is the BEST FEED, and it's NORMAL to breastfeed in the public. We adult want to dine in a fine restaurant or eat anywhere, why can't our lovely baby? Why do we need to hide or breastfeed in the toilet? Our baby definitely don't want to be fed in the toilet (smelly, yucks!) Babies have their right to be fed in anywhere too. When the public see more mothers breastfeed in the public more often, they will definitely accept it as a normal thing eventually. So we need your support. Come join us in the event. We alone cannot change the culture, we need you all to educate the public what is RIGHT!

Fabric Addiction and a hoarder too!

OK saya dah buat pengakuan terbuka, that I've became a fabric addict and a hoarder :p.
These are USA designer fabrics that I'd managed to collect ( a collector indeed cehhh!!) just in a few months I get hold on a sewing machine (and a serger too).

And I'm yet stashify with these...haiiiiiizzzzzzzzz.
now off to etsy.com to see more cute prints. :p

Frankly speaking not only designer fabric intrigues me, if you leave me alone in a fabric store, I may leave the store with a huge bundle of fabrics. Mata rambang!! Especially during sales.

Wanting to sew a dress like this..

with some adjustment
- pull over bodice with elastic band at the waist so i can access to a nursing opening. But the dress will look like a normal empire waist dress. LINK of the tutorial is OVERLAP NURSING BLOUSE
- another layer of fabric to cover that lowered wrap neck.
- owh that twirly circle skirt will definitely help to cover my tummy buncit-ness.LINK for th twirly skirt is CIRCLE SKIRT

Sweet Cupcakes Raya top Husna

Hello!!
Just dropping by to showcase Husna's raya top that sewn by yours truly.
I'm still in raya/holiday mood and not sure how to warm up my work mood.
Like an old motorbike, it may take few days i guess :p.

Top? No dress?
I always have this excited feeling to start a dress project, but hmm.. speaking of practicality, i seldom dress Husna in a dress whenever we went out. I prefer her in jeans.
So i made her a top instead.

This time, finally.. I use a USA designer cotton Confections by Robert Kaufman and matched it with a polkadot english cotton from Ashley Cotton Collection.

My skill has improved sikit but i still have a lot to learn.

And the action pic.

Husna loves this top. May be she likes the vibrant colours of the cupcakes.
I found this novelty button (teddy) at A2Z in Seberang Jaya, i was soo thrilled!

Okie that's all.

Raya 2011: HAdiff dan Husna

This year we celebrated hari raya just like every year before.
Simple.
Other than Husna had her first baju kurung.
Other bajus were bought from sogo and jusco.
Most of them are cap MIKI.
I guess MIKI should select my kids as their ambassadors :).
Cheap maa all bought at 70% off.
Frankly speaking, we didn't really into theme, pakai baju same colour or at least just between hadiff and husna. I am not sure why, may be next year kot.
But what the heyy, ada salah kah? Hehe.
Here's our family picture, which is rare okeh bukan selalu amik. :p

Mr asben wore the same baju for 3 years now (which hmmm.. Baru 5 kali pakai, twice a year).

Hadiff dan Husna pakai baju hijau.

Then off we went to our former Prime Minister Pak Lah' open house (actually open dewan).

Not to forget ambil gambaq with pak lah.

Husna salam ngan Pak Lah. Mak Jane sebok makan.

Hadiff korek idung lak, rosak gambaq.. Ish ish ish.

Malam, they had (hadiff jaaa :p) a chance main bunga api with their 3 active and energetic cousins.
And i was soo being paranoid takut jadi apa-apa :p

Itu ja..
Simple but happy (and enough).
But we have more things to come which including a nice relaxing holiday at Teratak Afrina, Batu Kurau.
Tak sabaq nak jumpa opah dan wan kan hadiff. (tapi hadiff lg tak sabaq nak terjun pool kan... Hehe)

Dah bersawang blog ni hehehe.
So many things had happened lately. Career, social and my life.

My officemates and i were surprised with news of office closure. Luckily, it doesn't materialise though that means no chance of saving 40++K in asb hahaha.

Issue with an unprofessional cloth pad maker (ok still owe my readers the complete details, though ada gak rasa kesian).

Up to this moment sewing is still my passion ( though not very sure how long it will stand hahaha).

Sedaq tak sedaq the holy ramadhan is almost over and i feel sad in a way ( not sure why).

Okie, cukup lah. Just sharing with u what i sew recently :).

And the best thing is, i have my own label edi!!!

Sewsukasukie means i sew for fun :).

Cantik tak? Hehehe.

Disini saya nak paste UNEDITED PM antara saya dan Hanisah Noor tentang issue Rozy dan Baby Snowdrop tu.
Tiada langsung niat saya nak memperburukkan nama SNOWDROP di facebook, saya HANYA bertanya pendapat kawan2 tentang apa yg telah BABYSNOWDROP decide atas replacement CP saya yang rosak tanpa bertanya dengan betul samada saya setuju atau tidak. Hingga saya pos hal tentang warranty di wall facebook saya dan di CP Group.
Saya tidak dibenarkan membela diri di CP GROUP kerana saya telah di KICK OUT tanpa mendengar penjelasan dari pihak saya.

Esok saya jelaskan apa FITNAH yg telah dia tabur pada saya di group itu (COPY PASTE UNEDITED). Dan saya juga akan tunjuk kualiti CP yg saya terima.

Dah siap!!
I was chosen as a pattern tester for a pattern shop in etsy.com, PeekaBoo Pattern Shop.

My review :
1- She made it soooo simple and easy to follow.
2- You do not have to confused yourself with sewing jargons, it uses lay mans term and very suitable for a newbie like me.hehehehe
3- The length of the skirt is a wee short on Husna, but that can be lengthened with ruffles (or as a top with leggings).
4- I made a mistake by choosing knit, not suitable for a sash as it cannot 'hold' the shape.
I love the ruffles on the bodice, but I made a mistake by not serging it prior sewing. But it covered and invisible anyhow.

Husna was trying to stay put..before she ended up

Yeay!! I was given a chance to be a pattern tester for a lovely dress by PeekabooPatternShop in etsy.com (USA based online shop) and her personal blog is Nap Time Crafter. It is a Sea Breeze dress. Very lovely, indeed!! The published price for the pattern is USD6.50 (equivalent to approximately RM20.80) <--and I got it free!! :) This shop also sell patterns for baby booties, caps, cute rompers, apron and many more.

Her lovely daughter wearing this dress.

Well, eventhough I have quite a good collection of fabrics (at least for an amateur like me), i don't have anything that suit with the name of the dress or something in white and blue. And I have no chance to go the fabric store during Ramadan.
But I found this matching fabric.

The polkadot for the bodice and the plain pink for the skirt.
Hopefully it will turn out nice.
I was given 1 week to finish this project, then I must give a review on the pattern with photos of the completed project.

I wanted to look for A matching fabric for a dress <--my first dress order :)
It was kind of hard to find a cute prints when the theme colour is grey.
However, I managed to find a nice greyish polka dot motive for this project.
Hopefully the momma likes it <---like I do :)

The best things is, I found a suitable fabric (knit to be exact) for Husna's leggings.
My eyes were all pening and rambang and I had to rush <--lucky me or more damage had been done.
I also found 2 knits for my very first blouse project.
Can't wait for it *wink*wink*

World Breastfeeding Week 2011 - One Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding

Happy World Breastfeeding Week (August 1st – 7th) 2011, from MMPS.

This year MMPS (Mother to Mother Peer Support) would like to hold a ‘virtual’ One Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding event.

This will take place on August 6th at 3pm.The idea is that anyone can join in, anywhere; either alone or in a group: mothers at home, at work, whilst shopping etc.

Soothing music will be available on the Internet so you can to get relaxed and prepared to breastfeed. This should be done around 2.45pm. All children feeding over the 3.00 – 3.01pm minute will be counted into the event.

We will use Koala Kids as our hub/base to coordinate and correlate the numbers.

As our name suggests we would like to spread the word Mother to Mother so please pass this message on via word of mouth, email, s.m.s. etc. to anyone and everyone you think may be interested in taking part.

This year we also want to show recognition to all our valiant working mums or mothers who are otherwise separated from their children. To honour these brave and determined ladies we are asking you to support and take part in this year’s event. You can do this in one of two ways:

1) This is the most preferred. At the designated time, on the 6th, put your child to the breast. You may be surprised and your child may comfortably feed.

2) Alternatively feed your breast milk to your child via cup or spoon. MMPS does not condone or recommend bottles or teats so feeding your child via this method will not count for this event.

Please then, by 3.30pm, send MMPS a message via email pgmmps@gmail.com OR sms to ONE of the following numbers: 0174259378 / 0124156446 / 0165533782 to indicate your inclusion in the final count. Email/SMS us the name of mother and child/ren and your email address. (For example: Connie Mooi and YangYang, pgmmps@gmail.com). We'll send you an e-certificate.

The total number of participants will then be announced by 4pm along with certificate details.

MMPS will be organising another One Minute Simultaneous Breastfeeding event in October, on a larger scale. This will include Hospitals and Confinement Centres so to all our pregnant mothers out there, “don’t worry if you miss out on this event.”

Finally, after a high and low search on macaroon yg femes sangat tu,
I found SUGARBUD CAKES located near to my house at Bertam Perdana, a home based bisness by a nice lady/ WAHM mom.
I bought these at RM25 <--RM3 discounted from the actual RP <-thanks dear.
Please, do not ask me the flavor, I have no idea, eventhough she told me earlier.
I didn't really care as I never tasted any before...:p
The macs were nicely packed with red ribbon tied on the hard container.
I told her earlier that I may not like macaroon as I'm not a sweet tooth person.
She told me that there are 2 methods of preparing macaroons and the one that she made for me is sweeter compare to the other method. (don't ask me the name of those..:p)

She also gave me 2 shells of the less sweet macaroons..

My verdict:-

1)As expected, erk? I felt like eating raw sugar!! Too sweet to my liking.
2) The sweetness of the shell was too overwhelming up to the level I couldn't figure out the taste of the filling.
3) I couldn't differentiate the taste between those techniques as well.

I managed to eat one of each colour and had to drink 2 glasses of cold water and ate kopok bantal to get rid off the sugary taste. Dear Hubby felt the same too (much expected from a person who drink averything 'O' and air suam).

Sorry dear, I may be your return customer..may be next time we have more time to know each other well.
but macaroon? NO THANKS! :)

Muhammad Hadiff Raef sudah bertukar menjadi Ultraman.
He is now in that phase where he is the Ultraman (and his little sister is Robot Kecik Sajaaa.. :p).
He always said :
"Otromen dan besaq"
"Otromen naik ketapi ijau, bot, nek kapaitebang" <---reflecting his utmost obsession in transportation.
but the best thing is
"Otromen pandai kencing kat lubang" <--- he is potty trained!!! finaaaaaaallly!!
I was really grateful when I'd boldly changed his baby sitter from his one year babysitter Ibu to Husna's babysitter Mamak (read:mak).
Mak had PT him in just ONE DAY!! With not even one accident occurred.
Thanks god lega...., no more buying disposable (or adding new cloth diaper stash).

My Ultraman talks a lot..when we were gathered together, I couldn't have any peaceful conversation with dear hubby. He would cut off our conversation, just with a simple question "Tu apa?".
If we ignored him, he would cover my mouth and said "diamlaa, Otromen nak cakap ni".
When he was doing his bisness in the loo, he would sing, he would just mumbling talking nothing in particular.
Aaand it was hilarious :p.

He merajuk a lot. But that could only last for few minutes. It ended quicker if he had something to say.
Aaahh and I realised since Hadiff and Husna are under the same care taker, they seemed to accept each other much better. Lesser sibling rivalry. :)
That's all the updates. (at least not blogging about sewing ngeh..ngeh...ngeh)

I sew 2 skirts for my best friend's daughters, Puteri Zara Mikhail and Puteri Melissa Mikhail. (cute names)
She is my only friend who had been with me when I was down and helpless.
I really cherish our friendship and org kata kawan sampai tua..
Yes, she is one of the selected ones. :)

Mr Asben commented that my sewing skill has improved and the prints I've chosen for this project is sooo english..and he likes it.
I do hope Zack and her daughters will like them too.

Please bear with my obssesion in sewing, i hope it is not permanent..:p
and hope I could blog about other things too.
But now, I just want to spend my time sewing!!!

You heard it right, I am or in a better word, Husna is 100% a Grovia converted.
She cannot wear any synthetic fibre anymore. :(
That means no common pocket cloth diaper that use synthetic fibre as the liner (fleece or suede) for her.
But that really makes me wonder, as she seemed OK with synthetic fibre before.
She had no problem wearing it when she was a newborn up until hmm....last month when her skin had showed symptom of allergy.
Hahahaha, may be she inherits that from me.:p

I turned to Grovia when her rashes vanished when she wore Grovia.
So without hesitation, I started to stock up this diaper.
I was lucky as several momma had arranged Group Buy, bought directly from the whole seller in US.
So the price is cheaper than buying from local shops.

This is my personal review on Grovia diaper.
Why I love Grovia :-
1- My daughter is allergic to synthetic fiber, therefore she can only wear Grovia as it is made of organic cotton.
2- Super trim on her.
3- Generous sizing with plenty of room for her growing bum.
4- Grovia design is brilliant and excellent, with super absorbent soaker, I never experience any leakage eventhough wearing Grovia since she was a new born.
5- Lovely cute fancy prints that match her outfits.
6- Definitely made of highest quality material, durable hence worth every penny spent.
7- I love AI2 system, hassle free and traveling friendly with lot less luggage.
8- Save water save electricity as the shell is reusable hence save the environment!

I started with a Grovia Experience package from Tiny Tapir, that was 1 year ago.
2 shells and 4 soakers.

Now I have,
6 shells and 22 soakers!! Hehehheheh
And definitely will grow more. :)

Me had always wanted to sew baby booties.
There many free tutorial in the net and owh those cute little feet definitely deserve more than just a pair of sock!!
This is my first attempt using a jeans fabric.
I plan to sew several pairs for my nieces.
And for two of my expecting babywearing friends.

A friend of mine was really surprised when she looked at my sewing creations in my fb.
She has known me from schooling days and she remember an incident where I was eye teared during KEMAHIRAN HIDUP lesson.
I was sooooooo bad in sewing, I was totally hopeless!
But now, ekhem...I sew for fun and DD wearables too. :)
She asked me where did I learn to sew?
Did I attend any formal classes?

Well, to tell you the truth, I'm yet to enroll myself in any class yet
(though had a plan ages ago)
I'd cancelled it just because....

I can learn it for FREE..yesss in the internet!!

My little darling is 1 year old today.
Her milestones are:-
1- Loveeeeeeees biting so much. Be prepared to be bitten by her if she gets excited on something and you're happen to be very near to her.
2- She just started to walk last week and currently in practice to polish her walking skill.
3- She talks (or mambling or jerit) a lot!
4- She loves getting on Hadiff eventhough the consequences are quite painful hahahah (kena tolak).
5- Sometimes she can be a very darling little girl when most of time, clingy :p.
6- She has 8 teeth now and she really puts them into full use.

Again, my newest craziness which is sewing.
I'm doing quite a lot of hopping here and there to sewing/crafty mama's blogs lately.
Gosh, really captivated with their sewing passion and those beautiful babies...*sigh.
And their fabric collections..(WHERE CAN I GET THOSE COLLECTION BESIDE BROWSING THROUGH ETSY?!!! NOT TO MENTION WAITING FOR THE FLUFFY MAIL TO ARRIVE?)

Okie, straight to the point.
I plan to put label on my finished products.
Those dresses, skirts and pants. (masih meroyan menjahit :P)
And I need a name for my label (which I'm su*k at choosing)

Product Review : Rockin' Green Detergent

Recently, I arranged a group buy in Malaysian Cloth Diapering Parents to buy this detergent ROCKIN GREEN.
They had in on sale during recent Great Cloth Diaper Change.
Since then, I heard a lot of good reviews on this detergent that it works wonder to clear stinky smell from cloth diapers.
Therefore, without hesitation, I arranged for a group buy to bring in 120 sample packs and shared among us to save shipping cost. (Shipping alone costed us USD44!!)

Some infos on ROCKIN GREEN

Rockin’ Green is made of safe, phosphate free ingredients which makes it good for the planet and gentler on your little ones. Everything is made with love, and put to the test every single day on my own families diapers and laundry. So you know that I expect only the best from everything that I send out the door.
Ingredients: sodium carbonate , sodium percarbonate, natural chelating agents, sodium sulfate, biodegradable surfactants, natural fragrance oils (if scented is chosen).

It comes in 3 formula depending on our type of water (we chose classic).
And also several scents.

My own verdict:-
I only use this detergent for cloth diaper laundry.
Well, since it is very difficult to get and of course EXPENSIVE.
Initially I wanted to restrict the usage for strip washing only but feel that I can still use the 6packs of sample for along time.
My cloth diaper routine is once in every 3days (it is a full load of washing machine)
I soak it for 3hours and using normal cycle as opposed to former setting, speedy cycle.

My usual water level is 51, (I had it set at 41 last night as I only had half load laundry, and I forgot to press soaking for 3 hours :p).
ONLY 1 AND HALF SPOON of detergent is used.
Upon completing the washing cycle, the cloth diapers come out clean with NO SMELL at all!!
Not even a hint of ammonia or even the scent of the detergent :p.
OK.
The cloth diapers are usually line dry under my porch (with no direct sun).
The result?
I love this.. it really rids off all the stinky smell from the diapers.
And I noticed that the usual urine smell that sometimes lingering after 1 hour of diapering has totally gone.

LOVING this detergent to max.
IT IS MY ULTIMATE CLOTH DIAPER DETERGENT!!

Pst: I believe these 6 sample packs will last me for another 6months.
I will definitely arrange another group buy if local stores do not able to import this great detergent in their stores.

This is only a gentle/kind/friendly reminder. :)
For the past two days, I had a good discussion with fellow breastfeeding moms in a facebook group dedicated to breastfeeding moms (and those who wants to know more about breastfeeding).
We had a good discussion on how long the breastmilk can be consumed by the baby once the fresh/frozen milk has been warmed.
( berapa lama susu fresh atau frozen boleh bertahan di dalam suhu bilik sekiranya telah dipanaskan?)
A friend had linked the discussion to a breastfeeding mom's blog (which is one of a good sources for breastfeeding info) and we were surprised to read the guideline. It had stirred a confusion among us.

Just manage to complete this dress.
Hm..I'm still excited making dresses.
It's my best learning curve as I learned a lot on new sewing techniques during each dresses making.
And it is soooo fun!

the shirring process was a bit difficult to start with

but getting easier along the way when I learned how to pull the fabric tight in order to prevent it from bunching.

Okes, I'm charged as guilty.
I'm almost completed Husna's fourth dresses now.

Hadiff has learned to understand when Ummi wat kerja, means he cannot kacau ummi.
Two days ago, he picked up the dresses that I've made for Husna
and
he said " Cantik....adik unyaa... Hadiff nak jugak"
Toucheeeeyyy....Ok, something touched my heart and knocked my senses.
I've been busy making something for Husna but NONE for Hadiff.
Hadiff requested baju, but what baju I can sew for an active little boy?
To tell you the truth, I have 2 nice boyish designer fabrics for him
BUT
I'm totally clueless on what to sew. :(
hahaha except another pillow case, Hadiff loves his wild animal pillow case.

Any idea?

I did that almost everytime I commute to and fro Perda-Kamunting.

It is comfortable and SAFE!

The upper strap will be placed above the breastsheild (as seen above),

while

the lower strap will be placed on the tummy so that the bottles can be seated right on the hips.

well, I never use the handsfree..NEVER (as I'm just impatient to set it right).

I'd tried once and gave up :p

I was sooo d**n unlucky yesterday,,,ish..ish...

I had toothache all day long, even pain killer was not working. (The night before I'd paid RM320 to a dentist just to get greater intense toothache :( :( )
I had to travel to Kamunting to complete my testing, just to find out most of the tests cannot be performed in Kamunting, but had to source for the tester elsewhere.
Went to The Store Jualan Gudang potong hingga 80%, and found out that they cheat on the actual price..bad..bad..bad....
Almost hit by another car at Juru toll <--biasalaa orang potong queue..I did my part by honking sooooooo loud. :p
I was on rush to post my Melkaj to the new owner, PO closed at 6pm, I arrived at 5.45pm and I had to fold the melkaj again..and realized that it couldn't fit into the Pos Laju largest superthin plastic envelope. :?(
I'd to resort to plastic Kamdar and I really regret of not preparing the package earlier.
Then, I realized that I forgot to include I LOVE BREASTFEEDING sticker in the package (I normally give free sticker to my stuff buyer)
Upon handover the package, I noticed that the postcode to Putrajaya is wrong and the counter girl had to browse through a thick postcode guides to find it..(felt really guilty).
I planned to make burger for dinner, bought the bun, the patty and on the way back just realised that I'm running out of butter (which I always had in my fridge for a quick baking project)
When I reached the mini market (to buy an expensive buttercup), a car had block my way..and I'd signalled the driver to move slightly in front so that I can pass through (which actually my way).
When I was in the kedai, the driver came to the shop and shouted so loud
"KALAU TAK TAU BAWAK KETA JANGAN BAWAK, JANGAN INGAT BAWAK KETA HONDA CIVIC, BOLEH TUNJUK BERLAGAK!!"
I was puzzled why he said that, but I just act like nothing happen,,and I believe that piss him more :p.
The owner of the kedai (named Sultan :p), whispered to me..
"buat taktau jaa...orang tak betul ni.."
That's what I did, abaikan saja..
He felt embarrassed as no one entertained him..hahahahhah..buat malu muka sendiri ja..:p
Owh.. and he threaten me to SEPAK MUKA..hellooo!!! who do you think you are..
I didn't even honk at him eventhough he actually blocking me way.
Well, he is those type orang tua yang ego tiiiiiiiiiiingi menggunung....
aaaaaaandd I drive Honda city saja okeh..mana mampu nak pakai honda civic!! :p :p

When I reached home, all those unfortunate events just vanished..
seeing the face of the loved ones.. makes my day brighter again.

I just bought this cloth diaper via a group buy in Malaysian Cloth Diapering Parents ( a verrrryy dangerous fb group that can make you go bankrupt :p).

We bought the diaper from Nicki's Diapers.
You can read all the features and description in the page.
Well actually I didn't know that this BestBottom is actually a A12. Blame me for not bothering with the research or even reading through the website. I was captivated with the prints the PINK GIRAFFE.
I thought it just another pocket diaper which I'd gradually stop buying.
When I received it I was like "yeay!!! it is a AI2!"
The thing is, we didn't buy the soaker as it may cause the shipping more.
So, we ended up buying the cover only.
I only have 2 AI2 brands in my stash. Grovia and Bamboolite.

The shell is considerable thicker compare to normal PUL pocket CD.
Wish it will not prone to delamination in later days.
There are two snap buttons in the shell to snap in the soaker.
I'd tried with bamboolite insert but the buttons are not match. Both are female buttons.
Then I placed Grovia soaker in it and taaadaaaa.. yeay!! it fits in nicely.
Not that the snap is compatible but the length/width are so perfect.
I love the gusset on the shell, if I were to have a newborn in the future (plss ya mr asben...hehhehe), I will definitely hunt for this more.
The gusset is soo nicely made and I do believe it can contain explosive exclusive breastfeeding runny poo.
With double protection of Grovia gusset, you don't have to worry on leaks.

Next bonus is, Husna still on M setting, so giving more room for a growing bum. :)
Yesterday, she wore it for a good 5 hours with her sitting in a SSC during IKEA shopping and 3 hours drive on my lap.
No leaks no smell escaped.
In short, I'm loving it!!

Another quick project by me..:p
see told you, lately I'm meroyan sewing.
I sew panty liners with waterproof backing so these panty liners are also suitable to be used during light days.

Fabby from top to bottom
Flannel-microfiber-flannel-japanese cotton- flannel-velvet
I used free patterns from HERE.
I printed the pattern then resized it using photocopier.. :p
microfiber layer was cut from unused cloth diaper insert.
velvet is actually from my earlier tak-menjadi-kenyataan project.
I bought 1/2metre of japanese cotton which cost me RM6 only:)
I don't have the snap plier and definitely think of buying one.. or may be just use the small steel buttons.

So what do you think?

Hahahah..yeap I know, I'm kemaruk sewing.
I'm using my sister's (thanks and love you dear!!) sewing machine to the max!
My last weekend project is a pillowcase dress.

Why it is named as pillowcase?
Well, to tell you the truth, if you don't have money to buy new clothes for your Dear Daughter, you can actually cut a nice pillow case and turn it into a nice pillow dress. Brilliant and frugal ehh?
But of course I didn't do that.

No chance to try it on Husna.
Definitely she won't be able to tell if she doesn't like it :p

Finally I own a SSC with a HEADREST.
It is more confortable to Husna, unlike my previous Kanga J yg headrestless.
I remember received a comment from a passerby looking at Husna yg terlentok on my back.
I inadvertently overhead he said "tak sakit tengkok ka?"
So with this headrest, that problem is solved and I don't have to reaaaaaaallly aware on Husna condition on my back.
At least I can happily ensure that Husna is comfortable if she ever fall asleep on my back (which she always does).

It is a plum merimeko with graphite straps.
I am loving it (of course until Husna outgrown this carrier..hmmmm may be in 6months time, then this X2 will be on sale).

It feels the same.

Alkisah kejadian, this morning when I sent Husna to her babysitter house.
"Laaa..awat Rozy pakai baju koyak?"
"Erk? Mana koyak?" with me looking closely on my t-shirt and noticed that there was a 8cm long cut on the right sleeve.
"Macamana leh koyak ni?..hmm.. heran ni ritu pun ada selai jadik lagu ni"
"Ada la tu sangkut kat mana-mana", said Kak Nomi
I replied, "Hantu paa.. dahlaa ritu orang kat depan tu kata, orang yang duduk kat umah sewa Rozy lani kata berhantu".
Then she added, "Hmm..umah tu memang nampak macam ~~gloomy~~ suram sikit"
Hahahah then story continued towards paranormal activity.. (not that I feel any ghost pun lurking around my house). Despite sometimes, Husna could giggle to the wall for no reason (which baby normally do), we never encounter any X Files incident.
"Takpalaa, Rozy balik salin baju", with dalam hati "Dahlaa aku dah lambat dah ni..aiseyyy".
Reaching home, I told Mr Asben that again another baju was mysteriously terkoyak.
He said "Saya tau sapa yang buat.."
"Nampak Hadiff pegang gunting tadi..tapi saya cek tak nampak pun terkoyak, ingatkan Hadiff tak sempat gunting"
"Oooo Hadiff, pandai lak dia gunting", though a bit ralat but understandable that this totally my fault.
Sapa suruh tinggai gunting merata.
At least it is just an old (BUT MY FOVOURITE) t-shirt, kalau terluka mana-mana kan dah haru (which mr asben may blame me laa for that)

Terima kasihlaa Hadiff suh Ummi tukaq baju..rasanya baju Ummi pakai lani lagi matching dengan tudung baru Ummi.. :p

Mak Ngah bagi Ummi pinjam mesin jahit ~~Singa~~ Singer.
Wahh Ummi was really excited, she has always dream to own a sewing machine.
Not that Ummi reaaaally know how to sew, just like ekhemmm may be end up like oooooother former (?) hobbies.
At this moment, Ummi is working on cloth pad project (with Abah of course)
But last night, when Husna had finally fell asleep and Hadiff was charmingly behaving, Ummi decided to sew pillow cases for Hadiff and Husna.
Yeap, quite recently, Ummi started to meroyan on designer fabric. (dan butang mata tengok on the cute prints).
Using a simple logic, Ummi just carefully sewn two simple (that needs only straight stitches) pillow cases.

I bought this wrap out of curiosity.

Bought it from thebabywearer.com.

It had received many good reviews from fellow malaysian babywearer and I'd wanted desperately to feel/touch it.

To understand the uniqueness and the support it can offer.

This wrap was actually dyed before and later stripped to naked by previous owner.

It comes with its original off white colour, the natural colour of tussah silk.

This wrap contains 40% tussah silk and 60% organic cotton.

Tussah silk (tussah means wild) is a plain weave silk fabric from "wild" silk worms. It has irregular thick and thin yarns creating uneven surface and color. Wild silkworms feed on leaves other than mulberry leaves.Tussah silk is similar to shantung, with silk from the wild. Color is often uneven; usually referred to as "raw" silk.

Initially I wanted to dye this wrap.

Not that I've any experience in dyeing.

But no harm giving it a try, the worst it can happen is you've to strip it back..hahahah

But when I received the Azur, my attention had totally diverted from it.

This TSF wrap seems like has no meaning to me.

The reason is solely because, TSF is in size 2 which only good for RUB and rebozo.

And I don't do these two wrap carry, sorry to say. :(

So off it went to a new home.

Hope it deserves more snuggle time with LO.

If the wrap is to be dyed the contrast will make the fishes more noticeable/obvious.

Yes, this wrap definitely offers good support, a hel* lot more compare to 100% cotton stripey girasol wrap.

It also feels 'dense' and gripy.

Definitely a 'confident' wrap for RUB, no slippage.

Nursing In Public? Not a Problem at All!!

I nurse every where..it is not a problem for me.

My tricks are:-
No1 : CONFIDENT
No2: CONFIDENT
No3: CONFIDENT

Yeap, confident that you can do it.
Confident that you can still cover your aurat while breastfeeding
If you feel awkward,you baby can feel it and she will never feel comfortable nursing.

Well, other tips are of course..proper clothing and may be nursing aid like nursing cover?
I DIY my nursing cover HERE (well not really sew it myself ).. it is cheap.
I don't really bring the nursing cover, but since I'm an avid babywearer, I will always have a ring sling with me.

Here as a ring sling (my new addition to the family Baby Jeans Baby Queen from Comfy Joey)

and here as a nursing cover and I wasn't wearing a nursing clothes.
The weight of the rings sort of HOLD the cover.

Last Monday, I was on cuti free from the goverment of Malaysia (remember, cuti sebab menang bola? yess, just last Monday, my company granted us the leave)
I wanted to watch a movie and seemed Rio received a very good review in MBW forum, I thought why not bring Hadiff along.
So, this is his first trip to cinema.
Hadiff was really excited eventhough he did not know what is movie and not to mention cinema :p.
But he kept saying "Kecian kat adik...kena inggai" (Kasihan dekat adik, kena tinggal) :)
Heheheh...tahu pun ingat kat adik Husna ya.

A usual, Abah bought the tickets,I bought the popcorn and the drinks.
When the light was dimmed and the cartoon started, Hadiff seemed really surprised.

I could see that he was awed with the huge screen and the colourful picture.

To add to the spice,RIO starts with colurful birds singing and dancing.

Tengoklah mukanya yg ala-ala kagum dengan screen yg besar itu.

Hadiff could watch and seat properly for hmmmm....3/4 of the story.

Then he started to feel boring and started to ask " Mana owang?"

Aaaaaaaannd.. wanted to stand on the seat.

Luckily,there were like hmm..less than 10 people inside the cinema.

He ended up sitting on Abah's lap until RIO finished.

It was a very awesome cartoon.. :)

ThIs Is How I ArRaNgE My CD FoR OuTdOoR DrYiNG

well, sharing is caring for those who think my entry will benefit them.:)

There is a reason why I always take the everyday task (menyidai) from my husband during weekend.
Especially when the sun has decided to stay cheerfully bright.
To start with, my CD washing schedule will be arranged at such that once in a week, all the CDs will be out in the sun. So, definitely has to be on weekend. My everyday weekday drying is under the shade which you can see in this picture behind the cloth lines.

The CD arrangement must be in order so that the CDs can get all the goodness out of the sunlight.

Tak percayakah?

1- Microfiber inserts to be hung vertically so that more surface area are exposed to the sun. This will shorten the drying time.

2-CDs on the highest line are CD with stains so that the sunshine can bleach the stain from the fleece. Don't you know that sunshine the best, economical (free), safe natural bleach. Any UV exposure will help to lighten the stains, whether indoors or outdoors, in bright sun or cloud cover. However, the stronger and more direct the sunlight, the better the results. Fifteen to twenty minutes will make a big difference and can significantly lighten stains or get rid of them.

3- Organic cotton soaker (Grovia soaker) are dried lay flat.Grovia soaker is made of 5 layers of organic cotton and 1 layer of waterproof TPU. This makes the soaker 'heavy' in wet state. To prolong the lifespan of the gusset (elastic thingy),by drying it flat will eliminate the gravity pull that can occur if we hang it.
Plus we can place the cotton side facing the sun for shorter drying time.

4- CDs that are placed at lower line are All In Two (AI2) CDs . These CDs are made of single layer of PUL with a net like fabric. This shell cannot be exposed to hot sun as it can cause PUL delamination much quicker that the pocket CD shell. By the way, A12 dries quick.

I'm yet to venture into AIO (All In One). Although, AIO is much much more user friendly, I don't like the idea of longer drying time compare to pocket CD and AI2.

So, this is how I do it.

Pergh!! LHDN is sooooo efficient this year. Thank you!
Last year,I received my refund just in time to pay for my zakat. Urghh so lambat!
But this year,it is totally surprising and unbelievable.
LHDN took less than 3 weeks to pay back my refund!!
Well, to tell you the truth, I did not expect it to be this soon.
With that amount of money I claimed, I did expect for query and audit.
It is a huge some of money, at least for me.
But, yeay!! No query at all, LHDN believes in me, a trustworthy civilian..hehehheheh
This claim will be dumped into ASB, sit there until end of this year for zakat payment.
Meanwhile, LHDN...silalah potong gaji saya kaw-kaw ya... :p

I bought this book during recent Popular Book Store Sale.

I has always interested on early childhood education.

Well, not that I plan to start a kindy :p

Just to teach Hadiff before he starts his formal education.

I have read first few pages, and found this book very interesting.

I will share what I gain from this book with you.

DiDyMoS AZuR 3 - NeW AdDicTIoN (oops addition) To ThE FaMiLy

Just bought another wrap from the same mama in Sweden.
A 55% linen wrap, Didymos Azur.
As expected, the wrap was packed in a present like packaging with feathery string.
With a Thank You card..gosh ..she is really a nice mama.

And as expected, it came with surprise (which I had to hide it from Hadiff). Not halal.

I am tempted to tell her that I am a muslim.. but WTHey..just give that to my colleague.

Wore Husna for 15minutes...wowww..really impressive.

Husna felt weightless in it..itisavery supportive wrap Iwould say.

No wonder wrap manias are head over heel on this one.

I definitely need to dye this..nekid not so cun laa..

This wrap still feels a bit stiff...kejung.. may need a butt magic.Hmm... after dyeing laaa..

Maroon will be nice kan?

My breast pump is MEDELA FREESTYLE which I bought from Aja (now my best friend :)) from MYBREASTPUMPSHOP.COM.
I have been using it since Hadiff still on breastfeeding (that was 2 years ago).
I place all the parts (membrane, breast shield and the back cap) in a Tupperware (Freezer Mate range to be exact but not sure the size).

Usually, I pump at my work station as lucky me, my work station is located at a verrry strategic area with high level of privacy.. ala-ala exclusive high end housing area :p

Sila abaikan permandangan yg semak itu, lakonan sahaja ..hahahhaha

After I complete my 15minutes pumping session (which can be prolonged if I'm so hooked on MBW forum), I will put back the parts in its container and placed it at the top tier of the chiller. Next to my breast milk bottles. No washing or cleaning is done.

Another lucky me, as my office is also equipped with a nice 1 door fridge which is hmm..not many of us use it. My boss only put his fresh fruits and yogurts.

When it comes to next pumping session, I just run hot water from the water dispenser. Not to clean it, but to warm the breast shield. (sejuk oo pakai pam kalau tak panaskan sikit).

Water from the water dispenser is not really hot, if it is, add in some cold water to reduce the temperature.

I pump 3 times during office hour, so the same steps each time until the last session. I will wash the parts with warm soapy water.

Please use milk bottle detergent, not dish detergent okeh.

Then, I put it upside down to remove the water from the parts (I will do this until the clock shows 5 -> its time to chaalloo :))

Make sure this is done wayy far from your papers.

Extra Note:-

I don't use cloth or tissue paper to wipe dry my breast pump parts as I don't want any lint or dust stick on the parts. Air dry is the best drying method but I prefer it to just dry in the container instead of mesh bag as again dust from the environment may stick on the parts. Besides chiller, you can also keep your parts cooled in the cooler bag. Not to worry, as breast milk has all the goodness and a special property which is antibacterial.

OKES, Here is my entry

I am not a really organized person

BUT..when it comes to CLOTH DIAPERS..I am a SUPER MOM!! TADAAA!!!

CLOTH DIAPERing is one of my passions besides breastfeeding and babywearing.

It makes me feel more responsible towards the environment and it is my first step towards green living.

My two kids, Hadiff and Husna are fully CLOTH DIAPERed since they were born and I own 40over CLOTH DIAPERs. <-That's not too much right? :p but definitely growing (thanks to MCDP mommies :))

OK, enough said, so lets talk about how I store my CLOTH DIAPERs. I've seen a lot of storing solution by my blogger friends. Some just satisfy by putting the CLOTH DIAPERs in a basket and placed it at a corner for easy access and mobility. It may work with other people but not for me. I prefer my CLOTH DIAPERs to be at one place and I know exactly where I can find this and that. Plus, I can't imagine if my Husna gets hold of those CLOTH DIAPERs and starts ransacking everything. That's going to give extra hard work for mommy.

My CLOTH DIAPERs are stored in a 4tiered plastic cabinet.
It contains all the items that I need in CLOTH DIAPERing.

The first drawer keeps Husna's CLOTH DIAPERs.
The CLOTH DIAPERs are set at Medium setting.
Most of them are pocket CLOTH DIAPERs so the inserts are placed in the shells once they are picked up from the cloth lines and prior to storing.
The CLOTH DIAPERs are arranged as such so that I can easily choose the Diaper of the Day.
Well, mommy sure have her own preference on specific day :).

Second drawer contains Hadiff's CLOTH DIAPERs in Large setting.

Several of them are almost worn out and mommy is actually contemplating on buying new fluffy for him or start potty training (Mommy malas..SHAME..SHAME..SHAME!!)

Third drawer keeps other CLOTH DIAPERing accessories such as cloth wipes, wet bags, extra inserts, training pants (and mommy's cloth pads too).

The bottom drawers contains flat diapers and liner which I seldom use but has its own contribution in CLOTH DIAPERing.
Well, at least mommy can use it to wipe dry baby bums. :p

So far, I am happy with this system. It is simple, quick and cheap. My husband found it easy for him too. He helps me to change the kids CLOTH DIAPERs every morning.

Travelling Book- The Skin Type Solution

Dr Leo had offered us in Malaysianbabywearer a travelling book on THE SKIN TYPE SOLUTION by DR LESLIE BAUMANN.
This book is a very eye opener for me.
We had to answer questionnaires to evaluate the skin type.

The questionnaires in 4 parts

Well the answer for me is OSPW means I have a Oily, Sensitive, Pigmented and Wrinkled skin.

Explanations on the skin type - I LOVE THE SUN!! <--that is very true

Gosh..that is really something..and sound scary too.
I didn't know that my skin falls under Sensitive type!!! But that is the truth as a non gold jewelery is a definite a big NO NO for me. I will end up with rashes and itchiness.
Dr Baumann suggested the daily skin care to combat certain skin problems.

There are several prescriptions to combat different skin problems.

The best part of the book is, Dr Baumann recommends us what skin regime is suitable for that specific skin type.

Recommended products for moisturizer

Recommended products for cleanser

I should also avoid certain ingredients that may exist in the skin products.

Must take note :)

The products that she recommends can be easily found in the supermarket.

So I chose one of the products and give it a try!!

Olay Total Effects Cleanser and Moisturiser

Not sure yet if it works on me.

May be full evaluation after 1month?

Have you tried nasi talam?
Rice with all the curry, chicken all dumped into a talam.
When I was a kid, nasi talam was served during kenduri tahlil or the night before the actual kenduri kawin was held.
Now, it is kind of extinct, with gotong royong style kenduri have now most turned to catering, nasi talam is not served anymore..hmm..
Recently, we attended a kenduri kahwin just near to our house where Abah was one of the helpers there.
I was surprised when I saw Hadiff participated in nasi talam eating session with Abah, Teh and Abah's friend.
He looked like a pro already despite that he conquered all the chicken parts leaving the rest to only beef.
And he ate a lot!!

To some people, nasi talam sounds/looks gross but in my humble opinion, nasi talam does teach us good values, such as:-
1- Sharing- we had to share the food together and must not 'wallap' everything.
2- Eat politely as we eat sitting close to each other.
3- Get to know new friends - sometimes you are teamed up with people who you barely know. So this is the best time to chit chat while eating (though my mom may butang her eyes if she sees me talking while eating)
3- We indirectly help the host by reducing water consumption and also less work to clean all the plates.
