GrOViA CoNvErTeD
She cannot wear any synthetic fibre anymore. :(
That means no common pocket cloth diaper that use synthetic fibre as the liner (fleece or suede) for her.
But that really makes me wonder, as she seemed OK with synthetic fibre before.
She had no problem wearing it when she was a newborn up until hmm....last month when her skin had showed symptom of allergy.
Hahahaha, may be she inherits that from me.:p
I turned to Grovia when her rashes vanished when she wore Grovia.
So without hesitation, I started to stock up this diaper.
I was lucky as several momma had arranged Group Buy, bought directly from the whole seller in US.
So the price is cheaper than buying from local shops.
This is my personal review on Grovia diaper.
Why I love Grovia :-
1- My daughter is allergic to synthetic fiber, therefore she can only wear Grovia as it is made of organic cotton.
2- Super trim on her.
3- Generous sizing with plenty of room for her growing bum.
4- Grovia design is brilliant and excellent, with super absorbent soaker, I never experience any leakage eventhough wearing Grovia since she was a new born.
5- Lovely cute fancy prints that match her outfits.
6- Definitely made of highest quality material, durable hence worth every penny spent.
7- I love AI2 system, hassle free and traveling friendly with lot less luggage.
8- Save water save electricity as the shell is reusable hence save the environment!
I started with a Grovia Experience package from Tiny Tapir, that was 1 year ago.
2 shells and 4 soakers.
Now I have,
6 shells and 22 soakers!! Hehehheheh
And definitely will grow more. :)
Hmmm, what should I do with those pocket CD?
I have 15 of them...

Product Review : Rockin' Green Detergent
They had in on sale during recent Great Cloth Diaper Change.
Since then, I heard a lot of good reviews on this detergent that it works wonder to clear stinky smell from cloth diapers.
Therefore, without hesitation, I arranged for a group buy to bring in 120 sample packs and shared among us to save shipping cost. (Shipping alone costed us USD44!!)
Some infos on ROCKIN GREEN
Rockin’ Green is made of safe, phosphate free ingredients which makes it good for the planet and gentler on your little ones. Everything is made with love, and put to the test every single day on my own families diapers and laundry. So you know that I expect only the best from everything that I send out the door.
Ingredients: sodium carbonate , sodium percarbonate, natural chelating agents, sodium sulfate, biodegradable surfactants, natural fragrance oils (if scented is chosen).
It comes in 3 formula depending on our type of water (we chose classic).
And also several scents.
My own verdict:-
I only use this detergent for cloth diaper laundry.
Well, since it is very difficult to get and of course EXPENSIVE.
Initially I wanted to restrict the usage for strip washing only but feel that I can still use the 6packs of sample for along time.
My cloth diaper routine is once in every 3days (it is a full load of washing machine)
I soak it for 3hours and using normal cycle as opposed to former setting, speedy cycle.
My usual water level is 51, (I had it set at 41 last night as I only had half load laundry, and I forgot to press soaking for 3 hours :p).
ONLY 1 AND HALF SPOON of detergent is used.
Upon completing the washing cycle, the cloth diapers come out clean with NO SMELL at all!!
Not even a hint of ammonia or even the scent of the detergent :p.
OK.
The cloth diapers are usually line dry under my porch (with no direct sun).
The result?
I love this.. it really rids off all the stinky smell from the diapers.
And I noticed that the usual urine smell that sometimes lingering after 1 hour of diapering has totally gone.
LOVING this detergent to max.
IT IS MY ULTIMATE CLOTH DIAPER DETERGENT!!
Pst: I believe these 6 sample packs will last me for another 6months.
I will definitely arrange another group buy if local stores do not able to import this great detergent in their stores.

BeStBotTOm CD
We bought the diaper from Nicki's Diapers.
You can read all the features and description in the page.
Well actually I didn't know that this BestBottom is actually a A12. Blame me for not bothering with the research or even reading through the website. I was captivated with the prints the PINK GIRAFFE.
I thought it just another pocket diaper which I'd gradually stop buying.
When I received it I was like "yeay!!! it is a AI2!"
The thing is, we didn't buy the soaker as it may cause the shipping more.
So, we ended up buying the cover only.
I only have 2 AI2 brands in my stash. Grovia and Bamboolite.
Please click on the picture to enlarge it.
The shell is considerable thicker compare to normal PUL pocket CD.
Wish it will not prone to delamination in later days.
There are two snap buttons in the shell to snap in the soaker.
I'd tried with bamboolite insert but the buttons are not match. Both are female buttons.
Then I placed Grovia soaker in it and taaadaaaa.. yeay!! it fits in nicely.
Not that the snap is compatible but the length/width are so perfect.
I love the gusset on the shell, if I were to have a newborn in the future (plss ya mr asben...hehhehe), I will definitely hunt for this more.
The gusset is soo nicely made and I do believe it can contain explosive exclusive breastfeeding runny poo.
With double protection of Grovia gusset, you don't have to worry on leaks.
Next bonus is, Husna still on M setting, so giving more room for a growing bum. :)
Yesterday, she wore it for a good 5 hours with her sitting in a SSC during IKEA shopping and 3 hours drive on my lap.
No leaks no smell escaped.
In short, I'm loving it!!

ThIs Is How I ArRaNgE My CD FoR OuTdOoR DrYiNG
ni pun nak kongsi..hahahah..
well, sharing is caring for those who think my entry will benefit them.:)
There is a reason why I always take the everyday task (menyidai) from my husband during weekend.
Especially when the sun has decided to stay cheerfully bright.
To start with, my CD washing schedule will be arranged at such that once in a week, all the CDs will be out in the sun. So, definitely has to be on weekend. My everyday weekday drying is under the shade which you can see in this picture behind the cloth lines.
The CD arrangement must be in order so that the CDs can get all the goodness out of the sunlight.
Tak percayakah?
2-CDs on the highest line are CD with stains so that the sunshine can bleach the stain from the fleece. Don't you know that sunshine the best, economical (free), safe natural bleach. Any UV exposure will help to lighten the stains, whether indoors or outdoors, in bright sun or cloud cover. However, the stronger and more direct the sunlight, the better the results. Fifteen to twenty minutes will make a big difference and can significantly lighten stains or get rid of them.
3- Organic cotton soaker (Grovia soaker) are dried lay flat.Grovia soaker is made of 5 layers of organic cotton and 1 layer of waterproof TPU. This makes the soaker 'heavy' in wet state. To prolong the lifespan of the gusset (elastic thingy),by drying it flat will eliminate the gravity pull that can occur if we hang it.
Plus we can place the cotton side facing the sun for shorter drying time.
4- CDs that are placed at lower line are All In Two (AI2) CDs . These CDs are made of single layer of PUL with a net like fabric. This shell cannot be exposed to hot sun as it can cause PUL delamination much quicker that the pocket CD shell. By the way, A12 dries quick.
I'm yet to venture into AIO (All In One). Although, AIO is much much more user friendly, I don't like the idea of longer drying time compare to pocket CD and AI2.
So, this is how I do it.
How about you?
Care to share?

This is How I Store My Cloth Diapers (I WANT TO WIN JOLI DIAPERS!)
It contains all the items that I need in CLOTH DIAPERing.
The first drawer keeps Husna's CLOTH DIAPERs.
The CLOTH DIAPERs are set at Medium setting.
Most of them are pocket CLOTH DIAPERs so the inserts are placed in the shells once they are picked up from the cloth lines and prior to storing.
The CLOTH DIAPERs are arranged as such so that I can easily choose the Diaper of the Day.
Well, mommy sure have her own preference on specific day :).
Third drawer keeps other CLOTH DIAPERing accessories such as cloth wipes, wet bags, extra inserts, training pants (and mommy's cloth pads too).
The bottom drawers contains flat diapers and liner which I seldom use but has its own contribution in CLOTH DIAPERing.
Well, at least mommy can use it to wipe dry baby bums. :p
So far, I am happy with this system. It is simple, quick and cheap. My husband found it easy for him too. He helps me to change the kids CLOTH DIAPERs every morning.
That's all my submission for the contest. Wish me load lots of luck ok..really want to try that delicious Joli CLOTH DIAPER.. Winning this contest will definitely make my day!!!

FIrSt tImE CDiNg б Bb HuSnA @ 20th DaY
Now, I had urmm.. I think almost 40pcs. I am still not considering myself as addicted to CD because there are many moms out there who have a-worth-to-drool collection of CD stash as many as 100 over. My CD collection consists of CD which is as cheap as RM25 per piece to as expensive to me as RM95. And I love all of them!
Okes back to Husna, on her 20th day, she weighted at 4kg which is ok for me to start CDing her.. I have bought several dipes for her.. 5 sunny minky and 2 M itti bitti ... She couldn't fit in IB yet but surprisingly fit nicely in SM..though it appears bulky for her but so far SM can retain the pee and the explosive breastfeeding running poo.. ;). I had also tried her with Hadiff's coolababy but CB is still large for he especially at the legs..and I had one accident with CB..abis lencun kain batik ku.

I do my CD wash once in 2 days..and I feel that with 1 baby and 1 toddler on CD, I definitely need more CD..especially for Husna.. I am contemplating to buy more IB (but if wait for sales lg bagus sebab murah banyak) or buy Grovia A12.. but never see this system IRL.. I heard some positive and also negative reviews on this CD.. and nak invest duit yg banyak gak ni..kena fikir2 gaklaa..
So what do you think? OK tak Grovia?

Wetbag...OOoooo Wetbag...
Awat la plakk..... tp memang bila ku terkenang ku kekurangan wetbag..huhuhuhuuuu
Why I need it? I desperately need this for 2 days traveling period to store all the soiled diapers.
I have 2 daily use wetbags (see below)
But I found the HH wetbag to leak on most of the days though I do not see any signs of cracking kat PUL side, the second bag found to be functioning well until now except I do not like the drawstring system as the SMELL can escape through the opening. In fact the MOISTURE can also seep through it!
PLUS, I keep thinking on a nice print fabric I bought from Kamdar someday ago for my ring sling project (which do not materialize yet!!). Should be enough for my ring sling and a wetbag project I guess. BUT, I need a waterproof fabric to line the bag.. where can I get it? Plss...
I am thinking of buying fabric that use in tent or flysheet.. but I am not 100% confident it to be waterproof. Any idea where can I buy it?
I have searched through the net for new ideas on this..
Came across a great web teaching how to sew it..(not that I will jahit sendiri, K Zirah kann ada my DIY nursing cover punya tailor)
Tadi terbaca, wetbag can also be made of wool or thick fleece hmm ← xbocoq kaa
or can I just use curtain fabric (that is PVC).
Want to know how is my dream wetbag?
My dream wet bag is 20inch X 20inch, zippered with a loop end, nice prints and 100% leak proof (smell and moisture)
Kena buat sendiri gak nih.....
Sapa pernah wat sendiri wetbag?? Care to share with me?
Zillion thanks!!
regards
Rozy

REVIEW : Cloth Diaper - Between KS, HH and Coolababy

I have been using cloth diapers religiously now, 100% on day time and almost 100% nite time ( almost because sometimes I could be struck by lazy lightning.. so xcukup to cover the whole day..hehehhe). So far in my collection, I have 8 of CB (coolababy), 1 HH (Happy Heiny's cow print, I love it so I bought it, found it to be really expensive) and just recently added in a KS (Kasihku Sayangku), just for trial.
Herewith my personal humble review of these three CD.
Coolababy (red), KS (yellow), HH (cow prints)
1- Sizing

From biggest to smallest arrangement
HH> KS > CB
HH has a generous sizing.. it can be fitted from baby to toddler.. but I found it to be bulky for newborn.. apart of the RM a piece.. this CD can be a worth investment for a long run. KS sizing is almost similar to CB.
2- Waist Adjustment
HH - Velcro
KS - Velcro
CB - Snap button
I prefer the snap button as the adjustment is prefixed. "Tick" the button...settle.. KS velcro is definitely a thumb down.. senang terbuka.. and I found it to be disturbing.. Sibek Hadiff still kecik lagi..if he knows how to tarik2..sure dah terbukak CD nih..

3- Insert/Pocket Opening
HH and CB is a daddy's big hand friendly user.. Though KS opening appears to be neat than HH and CB, the pocket is surprisingly narrow.

4- Material
HH and CB have the microfleece layer..but HH material felt softer while CB will eventually turn to yellowish after sometime. KS has a suede cloth that I found to be difficult to get rid of poo poo.
Prints of HH is delicous.. (ehh??)
5- Marks on delicate baby skin
KS leaves obvious marks on Hadiff.. CB also but not as apparent as KS. HH? Not that I notice..
Which one is better? Value for money?
The true is..I do not have any particular preferences.. Up to you to judge..
But the main reason we choose CD instead of Dispo.. ..
SAVE THE MONEY and SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT..
Till then..

Coolababy second order dah sampy!!!
Wednesday, April 8, 2009
Betul ke cara nih?

Pompuan biasalahhh...my beloved hubby always say that when I started to spend money like water... just to pair the cow print wetbag..I bought a pair of HH cow print diaper (or the other way round? hehhee..) As compared to Coolababy diaper, HH has a really soft microfleece layer... insert is almost similar to Coolababy... Tried on Hadiff I observed it to be bulky.. or ma
y be the way I dressed it? Is it incorrect? Apart from this, I found that the velcro is disturbing as I had to adjust the fitting several time... Coolababy snap is easier and it already fit based on the position of the snap button... hmm...definitely I need help on this.. I have send out e-mail to Angie... waiting phase now...
Cow Print Wet Bag

Yeahh!!! At last I received my wetbag... though not as per my wishlist with floral print, this is gud enuf for me.. Happy Heiny's wetbag bought from Angie's on-line store.. Just wonder why there is no HH tag on the bag... yeaa...like the Wahmies.. the bag carries the brand.. Hahahahah what a heck... it is stil functioning well.. toink..toink... no more plastic bag in Hadiff's basket.. Go Go Green... (though I always use plastic bag brand Econsave.. ..hehehehhe)

Go! Go! Cloth Diapering!
Hmm… wonder how I got this new infection.. after a successful attempt with exclusive breastfeeding, I believe I was looking for new addiction and passion… again.. SusuIbu.com had opened up new view of baby diapering.. yea!! Another great way to save the pocket content. Starting the cloth diapering era is considered quite expensive Ha..ha.. no more buying Huggies at Kedai Ubat.... but if look at long term and less time surveying for cheaper disposable diapers..( especially when my baby can only wear Huggies and Drypers).. I started off cloth Diapering with Coolababy… China made diapers bought via ebay 8 pieces for RM236.. Takes almost 3 weeks to delivered as some Technical problem occurred where the diapers were been returned back to the manufacturer after it was released by KL custom. Kind of feel like being cheated pun ada..Nyeh..nyeh..nyeh…
The Trials
Dapat ja the package.. I immediately ripped open the courier plastic bag.. and vibrant colours of CD appeared.. Jeng…jeng..jeng… I washed two out of it for testing ( ya lah if Hadiff’s Super Duper sensitive skin could not tolerate… I may consider selling this off the net).. Glad to see that Hadiff did look cute in CD.. he still is now.. but wish that Coolababy also has prints on the CD.. The CD comes with 1 insert only but it can stay dry for 4 hours.. I could not help touching the fleece layer..
Training Nanie the Nanny
Nanie was a bit reluctant when I told her that I will introduce CD.. initially she thought that CD is lampin kain.. (mesti lam otak dia tingat amboi aih…ummi Hadiff ni kedekut toi!).. then I explain slowly and clearly to her how CD works.. and she definitely surprised when I told the price of a CD.. tu baru made in China Nanie oii… at last, she accepted it.. Everyday I put inside Hadiff’s basket 4 CD and 2 Dispo for spare.. and of course my washing machine is required to work everyday.. My hubby bought a Dispo from his friend Wriggles and fortunately he mistakenly bought L size.. the turnover of Dispo is very less as I only use it at night time… Plan to buy more CD.. part of my bonus this month will definitely be well spent buying CD..a smart investment.. Toink..Toink…
My wish list
- Happy Heiny's Cow print
-
- Wahmies Wetbag
