Assalammualaikum dan Selamat Sejahtera,
OK, I admit it! Sudah kena balik babywearing bug. It has been a while I left this craziness..I guess once Husna started to "Nak alan...nak alan...". Having a new bun in the oven, I just accept the fact that the craziness has begun :p.
This is my very first babywearing gear that I bought for the yet to born new squishy. Note that I don't even know the gender of the baby yet.. So I guess the colour selection is more gender neutral though I don't mind using a pinkish baby carrier eventhough my wearee may be a boy...ngeeeeeeeeeeeeee..
I bought a natibaby grey white tulips.. not sure why I bought this wrap, I guess because I was lured by the 25% discount..haizzzz... This is a linen cotton blend wrap, 50:50 to be exact! Not even a newborn wrap! But I like the doodles on the wrap.. it looks fresh aaaaaaaaandd hmmm modern? :p
Since this is a new wrap, it needs a lot of brutality and abuse to break the weave and make it softer. And since my squishy is still waaaaaayyy lambat lagi nak keluar, I sent this wrap to my fellow babywearer for her to use it. Nanti dah dapat balik kat saya, sure dah lembut gemalai... best!
I am still searching for a gauze wrap... gauze wrap is a must for me. It is a superb newborn wrap due to its airiness and thin. Found back my gauze wrap, third mama having it but alamak...mcm she is not willing to let it go saja...huhuhuhu
Okie then, that is all for now. Hope I don't spent too much on babywearing gear...huhu but hmm.... it just happen one at a time.. now no more nafsu to buy designer cotton..aiyark! but babywearing bug is more costly! Abisslaaaa.....

IBW 2012 : CARRYING ON TRADITIONS
Assalammualaikum and Selamat Sejahtera,
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee International Babywearing Week is finally here!
There will be loads of fun for malaysian babywearers.
For the start, lets join us in a babywearing walk to show to those people out there the conveniences of babywearing (and how glam it is -despite being labelled as Indon whatsoever!)
I will be joining too at Queensbay Mall! Praying hard that Husna will allow me to babywear her (though I really doubt it hmmmmm..time for new squishy ehh)

CROTCH Carriers & FORWARD Facing OR Facing OUT Babies
CROTCH Carriers & FORWARD Facing OR Facing OUT Babies
The issues with crotch carriers and facing forward/out babies are NOT about safety, but more on the developmental effects on babies being worn in this type of carrier or worn in such position.
Please find the articles here on issues with regards to crotch carriers and facing out babies:

Q: My baby really wants to look around
A: Alternative carries e.g. hip carry (baby is carried on the hip), back carry (baby is on your back & can look forward/around) using an ergonomic baby carrier.
Q: My baby's legs will be "kangkang" or spread apart in those wide-based carriers. I prefer a narrow base since there wlll be less "kangkang"
A: A wrap is highly versatile & can be adjusted exactly to your baby's legs width.
An ergonomic structured carrier will support your baby's thighs/legs.
A ring sling can be worn in front/back/hip and still avoid the crotch carrier problems.
A mei tai can be cinched smaller to accommodate your smaller baby.
Feel free to add more links if you found any or forward this page to anyone whom you feel can benefit from these articles.

But today, I'm going to introduce you to the new addi(c)ttion to the family..
Kanga XT Unikko in Blue.
Owhh I love Marimekko motifs..they are lovely and feminine..

CROTCH CARRIER Vs PROPER BABYWEARING GEAR
I got this pic from fellow babywearer.
Test conducted to evaluate the condition / level of comfort of the wearee in a crotch carrier and in a soft structure carrier (SSC).
You can see how uncomfortable he is in that crotch carrier ?(looks like a baby bjorn or look a like)
He was practically hanging on his father for assurance from falling off.
And see how he seemed relax and confident in the SSC..
Carriers like the Bjorn, Snuggli and Infantino SSC have earned the un-savory nickname “crotch-danglers” because they don’t position baby in the natural holding position. Instead, baby is seated in a fairly narrow seat leaving the legs to dangle straight down.
I’d also argue that the “crotch-dangle” position is simple not comfortable for baby (and somewhat different in a carrier where baby can’t rest his feet vs. an exersaucer or jumperoo where his feet touch the floor). Try this simple test taken from Didymos’ instruction booklet: Stand on one leg with your other leg out in front of you, bent at the knee. Place your hands under your knee to support your leg and let the full weight of your leg rest into your hands. Now move your hands back towards your bum. You will instantly begin to feel a strain in your back that wasn’t there when your leg was supported under the knee. That’s the same strain a baby will feel when his legs aren’t supported to the knee. Even if we assume that this position doesn’t cause harm, it certainly isn’t as comfortable as the alternative.
source : http://www.becomingmamas.com/why-you-should-avoid-crotch-dangler-baby-carriers/
So my dear friends, please please please avoid from buying any crotch carrier.
Please read this article explaining how bad the effect is on baby's spinal development.

KaNgA X2 iS HeRe!!
Finally I own a SSC with a HEADREST.
It is more confortable to Husna, unlike my previous Kanga J yg headrestless.
I remember received a comment from a passerby looking at Husna yg terlentok on my back.
I inadvertently overhead he said "tak sakit tengkok ka?"
So with this headrest, that problem is solved and I don't have to reaaaaaaallly aware on Husna condition on my back.
At least I can happily ensure that Husna is comfortable if she ever fall asleep on my back (which she always does).
It is a plum merimeko with graphite straps.
I am loving it (of course until Husna outgrown this carrier..hmmmm may be in 6months time, then this X2 will be on sale).

I look demok from back..:p
In terms of comfy to the wearer, it is actually similar to Kanga J.
It feels the same.
Kanga X2 is the improved version of Kanga J with additional headrest.

DiDyMos TuSsAh sIlK FiScHe Sz 2
I bought this wrap out of curiosity.
Bought it from thebabywearer.com.
It had received many good reviews from fellow malaysian babywearer and I'd wanted desperately to feel/touch it.
To understand the uniqueness and the support it can offer.
This wrap was actually dyed before and later stripped to naked by previous owner.
It comes with its original off white colour, the natural colour of tussah silk.
Tussah silk (tussah means wild) is a plain weave silk fabric from "wild" silk worms. It has irregular thick and thin yarns creating uneven surface and color. Wild silkworms feed on leaves other than mulberry leaves.Tussah silk is similar to shantung, with silk from the wild. Color is often uneven; usually referred to as "raw" silk.
Initially I wanted to dye this wrap.
Not that I've any experience in dyeing.
But no harm giving it a try, the worst it can happen is you've to strip it back..hahahah
But when I received the Azur, my attention had totally diverted from it.
This TSF wrap seems like has no meaning to me.
The reason is solely because, TSF is in size 2 which only good for RUB and rebozo.
And I don't do these two wrap carry, sorry to say. :(
So off it went to a new home.
Hope it deserves more snuggle time with LO.
without flash
with flash
Can you see the swimming fishes?
If the wrap is to be dyed the contrast will make the fishes more noticeable/obvious.
Yes, this wrap definitely offers good support, a hel* lot more compare to 100% cotton stripey girasol wrap.
It also feels 'dense' and gripy.
Definitely a 'confident' wrap for RUB, no slippage.

Nursing In Public? Not a Problem at All!!
I nurse every where..it is not a problem for me.
My tricks are:-
No1 : CONFIDENT
No2: CONFIDENT
No3: CONFIDENT
Yeap, confident that you can do it.
Confident that you can still cover your aurat while breastfeeding
If you feel awkward, you baby can feel it and she will never feel comfortable nursing.
Well, other tips are of course..proper clothing and may be nursing aid like nursing cover?
I DIY my nursing cover HERE (well not really sew it myself ).. it is cheap.
I don't really bring the nursing cover, but since I'm an avid babywearer, I will always have a ring sling with me.
Here as a ring sling (my new addition to the family Baby Jeans Baby Queen from Comfy Joey)
and here as a nursing cover and I wasn't wearing a nursing clothes.
The weight of the rings sort of HOLD the cover.
Both pictures were taken at Sungai Palas Boh Tea Plantation. <---sedap scones kat situ..yummy yummmy...
Here, read this illustration...hilariously true!!

DiDyMoS AZuR 3 - NeW AdDicTIoN (oops addition) To ThE FaMiLy
Just bought another wrap from the same mama in Sweden.
A 55% linen wrap, Didymos Azur.
As expected, the wrap was packed in a present like packaging with feathery string.
With a Thank You card..gosh ..she is really a nice mama.

Kemas sangat
And as expected, it came with surprise (which I had to hide it from Hadiff). Not halal.
I am tempted to tell her that I am a muslim.. but WTHey..just give that to my colleague.
Wore Husna for 15minutes...wowww..really impressive.
Husna felt weightless in it..itisavery supportive wrap Iwould say.
No wonder wrap manias are head over heel on this one.
I definitely need to dye this..nekid not so cun laa..
This wrap still feels a bit stiff...kejung.. may need a butt magic.Hmm... after dyeing laaa..
Maroon will be nice kan?
Loving this

MBW G2G @ KuLim
12 Feb, we had a meet up among MBW members.
We held it in Kulim.
Tried to lure more outside people to join us, but still end up with the same people.
A group of people who already know what is ring sling, ssc etc etc..
Planned to conduct a proper demo whatsoever...but ended up trying other people carriers.
It is okay, for a start just the six of us..hopefully more will join us in the future.
From left to right: Hidayah,Aishah, me, Yasmin, Aja and Dayah
Aja came all the way from Rawang..thanks Aja.
Eventhough she was tired and wanted to sleep, she could still smile in a wrap...
Goshh she really loves it!
Me back carry Husna in Girasol Forrest Berries sz 2.

SePiT PeRtAmA HusNA
Husna's first hair barrette, bought at Rope Walk Bagan, RM2 for 2.
Okaylaa..takdak sesi tarik2 <--so far laa..dah pandai nanti taktaula..
Abang Hadiff also wanted to pakai..tapi Hadiff, it is only for baby girl sajalaa..
She looks better with a hair clip as her hair has started to poke her right eye.
Well, what the picture below has to do with the title?
I spotted a babywearer in Rope Walk wearing her baby..in fact she looked waaaaaaaaaaaaay fashionable than me with a simple slip knot Thai silk with golden thread, wearing a matching shirt aaaaaaand a matching hair bow.Not sure if she is an Indonesian or Vietnamese.

BaTu HamPaQ aYaQ PuTiH & TT ApooTaErn RiNg SLiNG
Aktiviti minggu lepas.
Singgah di Air Terjun Batu Hampar Air Putih di Serdang.
Hadiff looves water.
Main/mandi air kat depan ja..malas nak naik jauh2.
Noone there yet, still early.
So we did not have to worry on any contamination that might happen up there :p.
As usual...
Mula2 Hadiff takut nak mandi..
Finally, takmo balik... so had to make story pasal nak main goyang-goyang (gosh who taught him playground is goyang-goyang..haishhh..)
Husna tak tgk camera sbb dia excited tgk Abang Hadiff mandi.
That's all!!

Dah berani, memang suka hati sangat sampai ketaq2 dagu semua.
Abah yg kelaparan pun takdak chance nak makan..dan as expected Hadiff pun refused makan bihun yg sedap ni.

Me, posing with Norley's Apootaern custom ring sling.
Nice colour combo,
Too short for my liking.
i don't favor gathered shoulder, so this is not for me.
still stiffla norley, like new..mesti hang jarang pakai kan...
masa mula2 pakai macam terkonpius jap..may be sebab reversible..nak threading tu tak tahu which colour with which colour.
confirmed!! i don't like double layer..tak kiralaa silk, cotton or linen.
Thanks a lot Norley for this opportunity.i don't favor gathered shoulder, so this is not for me.

HuSnA'S fIrST BaBy ToOtH
Husna dah ada gigi..a lower central incisor
Good news or bad news? :p
hahaha.. my breastfeeding journey is getting more challenging.
Without the gigi pun, she likes to gigit gigit asah gusi..
I think that is the reason sometimes she buat pasal for no reason.
But she still smiles a lot.
She loves her porridge especially with puree broccoli in it.
She grabs everything in front of her..
in fact she learns about her fingers' ability a lot faster than Abang Hadiff dulu.
Sometimes I caught her staring closely on her fingers.
Like she was digesting /programming the codes of the fingers in her brain.
I tried again Husna in Boba. (I bought Boba when Hadiff was 1 year old)
She fits in Boba nicely..love it!
Almost sell this..luckily it did not happen..
Best sgt Boba ni.
At the paddy field sebelah umah.. cantik lak,,ambil gambaq kat sini.

I wAnT ThiS!
Hadiff refuses to be carried in SSC, despite us coaxing him since he was barely 1 year old.
We even bought Boba for our hiking trip <--thats terkubur when I pregnant with Husna.
Hadiff, I believe has outgrown Boba now..and Husna fit in it very nicely.
After seeing Deuter Kid Comfort II in a Malaysian mom's blog..
haisss...I feel like I also want to own it..
Hopefully Hadiff will want to seat in it.
